About Dayna DeHoyos
Dayna DeHoyos was born in Austin, Texas in 1979. She currently lives and works in San Antonio, Texas, where she transforms her memories into assemblage paintings and sculpture. She began to paint at the age of 8. In 1998 she began her formal training in art. She attended San Antonio College from 1998-2001, where she received several art scholarships, from there she attended the University of Texas in San Antonio and received a BFA in Painting. During her education and training she studied under Eduardo Rodriguez, Mark Pritchett, and Joey Fauerso. After college DeHoyos opened a small independent gallery called Stella Haus Art Space in memoriam of her late grandmother Estella DeHoyos. Here she shows emerging talent with an emphasis on the contemporary.

DeHoyos began painting professionally while in college. Beginning in 1999 she started exhibiting at IV Design, a progressive independent art gallery. From 2001-2002 she was an artist assistant to Leonardo Drew. In 2007 she studied under and Alberto Mijangos. She briefly taught drawing and painting at Salon Mijangos art school. She is an active artist board member of the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center. Dayna DeHoyos is in the private collections of Estee Lauder, Barry Manalow, and Alexa Person. Publications that have featured this artist include: 210SA, The San Antonio Express News, The Current, and Art Lies.

I am a visual artist. I create artistic manifestations of memories, dreams, and love, so that I may remember them once they have passed. I work in two and three dimensional mixed media painting. My work is small, usually seven feet and under. The socio-cultural context that influences my work includes Texas life and culture, especially the West Texas Big Bend area. My work is immediate; if I have an idea or experience it is quickly translated into a work. I am not interested in sensation or controversy. I’m interested in documenting my memory and experience for those who care to share my history.

About Eddy Stratford

When friends decided to create the Art Erotica event, many years ago, I knew I wanted to be a volunteer and have gladly been involved since it inception. I am one of the creators of the Penis Project with friend, Jimmy Guthrie. The concept Jimmy had come up with years ago (outside of Art Erotica) was to give numerous artists the same picture and let them each create a piece of art based on the picture and than do an event / benefit / art show based on the art created from the one picture. Jimmy and I applied this concept the Penis Project with the help of sculptor David Thibodaeux who created the first molds for the Penis Project.

The art work I really enjoy creating is working with acrylics and oils for painting on canvas. I do not sell my art, I mostly use it for donations for benefits or give away.

My inspiration for this Penis Project design is about getting a little crazy with life ~Seal's song: "Never gonna survive, unless you get a little crazy!" was motivation.

I like disguising the penis so somebody could display it as a piece of art without the sexual connotation, but this years is gonna be a little loud.

Enjoy !

About Edmond Cottonballs aka the Easter Bunny

Edmond comes from a long line of Easter Bunnies. That title was his birthright and his destiny. The youngest of 18 he is the current Easter Bunny. In the early years the title of “Easter Bunny” in their blood line was an honor that went to the oldest Cottonballs bunny. Over time and with the rise of supply and demand it is now left to the youngest of the kit and many times considered a burden. This title too will some day belong to Edmond’s youngest. In the beginning of his reign of Easter Bunny Edmond embraced it, taking pride in his work, but then after 15 years of painting and hiding eggs for children all over the world Edmond had enough. After all, that is a lot of work for one little bunny. Edmond began to drink, spend countless nights with chicken hookers, and even developed a serious gambling problem. Many of us can recall the year there was no Easter Bunny (1996). In 1997 Edmond found his way back to the children of the world and rediscover the love of his calling.

You see, Edmond never lost his love of art, he actually enjoyed hand painting eggs. It was the monotony and endless hiding of eggs. Thinking of new “hiding spots,” always dreading the inevitable finding of an egg he hid the year before. Edmond just needed something to give him a break yet reconnect with the art he so dearly loved. He found that in penis art. Though he still finds it tough to break away from the Easter themes he is able to think outside the egg.

Why the penis you ask? Well rabbits have always been very sexual creatures, and take pride in their penis. The saying “F*#@k like rabbits” had to come from somewhere!

About Jen Rische

My name is Jen Rische and this is my penis. I am currently an award winning stylist at Wet Salon by day and a painter, sculptor, special effects artist by night. Nothing makes me happier than to make art. It is my reason for being. I'm very excited to finally get to create a piece for the show. Thanks to Art Erotica, I had the opportunity to take a mold of a penis and turn it into art. The result is a formerly sequined, black penis, surrounded by dripping wet mouths. Those in turn are surrounded by 30 inch voluptuous lips that open like the welcoming gates of heavenly bliss that seem to say "guaranteed to satisfy". Working with a penis mold is hard enough... but surrounding it with mouths makes it even harder.

About John A. Roof
Born in Coshocton, Ohio, January 14, 1949, I noticed fairly early that something was different. I wanted to fit in, but I was always just outside the circle looking in. I loved to spend my time looking at almost anything. My parents would always say “John, wake up.” I remember once when I was on a Boy Scout campout in the winter and snowed it heavily. I sat by the fire all night listening to the snow hitting the ground and watching it glimmer in the fire light as it fell from the sky. When daylight came I walked off into the woods and marveled at what lay before me. My Grandfather Bible was able to sit down and draw the face of anyone. Mother could put colors together and would work on an art project till it was finished. This is where my art education started.

Starting college at Port Huron Junior College in Port Huron, Michigan as a business major, I was only a business major one semester. I took an art coarse to get my grades up and never looked back. I spent my summers in Cimarron, New Mexico, at Philmont Scout Ranch. I could walk for hours looking at the trees, sky, and mountains. Sometimes it was like the earth was put here just for me to see the true beauty. I also watched the sunrise from the top of a 12,000 foot mountain. I did this often--the colors seen cannot be painted. I then transferred to Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas. This is the land of the big sky--not much else, but boy, do they have sky.

I graduated, got married and we moved to Houston, Texas, where I worked as the retail store manager of Texas Art Supply on Montrose. We started our family and it became harder and harder for me to find time to paint, so I would draw and began to build furniture. This became my artistic outlet. We raised three children, and time for art got less and less, but always there was this thing of looking and watching. I was a voyeur of the world around me. When my youngest graduated from high school, I had had enough. It was our time. My wife and I started the good life. We bought the general store in Staples, Texas, and restored antique furniture. I fished everyday on the San Marcos River, watching, listening and enjoying the beauty given to us. Then one day I was looking at the corn fields behind the shop. I found a piece of plywood and some spray paint. I have not stopped painting.

HULK COCK
Penis Project Series 1,000,000, 2010
Oil, Plaster, 18”x24

For the one-millionth penis I created I decided to go with the Hulk motif, since its what I always thought I was when I was a child. I would like to add that as a political statement I think it is outrageous that you cannot find any Incredible Hulk reruns on TV anymore. This is a shame and I do believe that Americas and the world youth are missing out on the most important aspects of being a man. That everyone with just a little uranium can have a beautiful penis just like this one and the one the Hulk had. And if you don’t then you extremely inadequate and should just off yourself now. Everyone’s cock should be purple and green!!!!!!

About Kim Williams

Kim Williams is an Austin Metro raised Illustrator, Designer, and all around crafter that never shies away from something new. Enter the Penis Project. It sounded like good fun and was. The inspiration for this penis in particular was color. The artist sees color everywhere (even in the bedroom), so it seemed only fitting to dedicate this penis to color. The Penis Project is a chance to break away from traditional ideas and to explore something new besides Kim's usual fluff, stars, and glitter covered works....Or just a chance to find something new to add glitter to.

About Layne Box
Penis Bouquet
At an early age Layne was an exhibitionist. “From as early as 2 years old you were pulling your clothes off to run around naked,” says Layne’s mother Donna. “Even after you started school, the neighbors would complain that as soon as you got home, you were naked running around the yard,” she continued. Layne says it wasn’t that he was an exhibitionist, more that he liked to show people, “what he was working with.”
Now as an adult, with it being illegal to run around naked, he has to find other ways to express what he is “working with.” So what better way than to show off his penis in the Penis Project!!
It has been so much fun working with ArtErotica this year and what better way to show the women that they aren’t the only ones with a flower!!!
About Les Weiler

Born in the pits of a cockfight in the rural south, Les Weiler has always been something of a maverick. After forming a local PETA group in his hometown of East Jesus Falls, Weiler reportedly led the entire organization into a bloody parking-lot skirmish at the local grocery store. When it was discovered that the group was merely fighting its own ranks while Mr. Weiler watched from a nearby rooftop, peppering the crowd with paintball fire, Weiler claimed the fight was his first attempt at performance art. "I feel the work could have been more focused and better documented, but still captured the zeitgeist I was aiming for."

After being court-ordered to switch mediums to something less prone to casualties, Mr. Weiler received a BA in Studio Art from UT Austin. This is his first foray into penis-themed art, following a brief stint making dildos for the Haiti Relief effort.

About Marcus Sanchez

With a love of Mexican folk art, confusion of religion, and human sexuality, Marcus explores these elements with bright colors, imagination, and a lack of moral decency. Critics believe that if not for his porn & alcohol addictions, continuing misguided religious studies, and his obsession with the penis, the wonder of his work would not be possible.

As a boy Marcus has always had a deep appreciation for the male member and spent a lot of time studying his own. As a man he has continued his extensive penis studies with many others. In "La Virgen" Marcus pays homage to the many depictions of the classic virgin while giving a shout out to his favorite body part -- the “charranga stick.” His collection of peni have been loved, hated, feared, and well received all over the world. After the completion of his court ordered sex rehab stay, Marcus vows to work even harder to bring to light the celebration of the magical life giving penis.

His involvement with the Octopus Club’s ArtErotica and 2nd year contributing to the Penis Project, come from the personal belief that not having a cure should only move us to work harder to help brave individuals living HIV and AIDS, not only survive, but to thrive.

About Mike McElhaney

1) I was always a natural climber, never a natural artist.
2) I once thought I was a dark and troubled soul, but
now know I am an unflinching boy scout.
3) I treat the idea of art with respect, yet judge what is
called art harshly.
4) Art is my substitute for Ritalin and I started taking it
as soon as I knew it was possible.
5) The first painting I loved was Francis Bacon’s
“Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a
Crucifixion”.
6) I am a natural landscaper- that goes for my art and
my garden.
7) Dick is at the root of my existence, therefore a
seemingly appropriate object for my gaze.

About Misty Meadows

I am originally from San Antonio, Texas yet have spent the last ten years in the awesome city of Austin, Texas! My art continually evolves through many different interests and methods that I stumble across and become enamored with. This particular piece is in the same vein as my current non-phallic work – pun intended.  However, do not be fooled! I do create a large variety of phallic work on a regular basis because I believe that many of our actions in all areas of life are based ultimately on our sexual desires. I am participating in this event because the penis is beautiful – and let’s be honest - what a fantastic and erotic way to raise money for such a good cause and great organization.

About Marcy McChesney

My artwork is an exploration into current issues in relation to the application to the art world. I utilize popular images pertaining to media and consumption, often dissected and combined with classical or traditional images. The various objects used become design elements, chosen for color, pattern, etc. rather than for their originally intended use. My hope is to create images that are intriguing visually as well as conceptually to the viewer.

About Matt Mason

Matthew Mason is a visual artist, living and working in Austin Texas. He received his BFA from the Ringling College of Art and Design and a Post-baccalaureate from the Maryland Institute College of Art. Having lived in 4 countries and 5 different states he settled in Austin, Texas where he was captivated by the intense imagery and symbolism associated with various tattooing styles, these themes repeatedly find their way into his work in the form of sculptures, drawings, and mixed media paintings. Often whimsical, ironic, and sometimes grotesque Mason strives to illustrate the internal struggle with the ego that sentient beings have with themselves. His work aims to titillate, transform, and transcend.

The inspiration behind this particular penis is the transcendental moment that occurs at the height of orgasm. The loss of self that most only taste at the precipice of climax. You are no longer yourself, but rather this raw energy.. this turbulent explosion that rips you from our world of flesh and transforms you into something beyond your mortal coil... if for only a moment.
I am happy to be a part of a project that not only helps people in need, but that helps to shatter the social taboo's and walls of censorship that prevent people from realizing their true potential.

About Ruby Martin

About Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer

Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer has worked as a visual artist, writer, composer, and filmmaker for 3 decades in New York, San Francisco, and Austin. He studied painting and sculpture at Parsons School of Design in New York. Through the late 1980s and early 1990s, he wrote and performed music in many original experimental productions, including musical adaptations of Frankenstein, The Scarlet Letter, and the Lizzie Borden story. In 1992, he and James Dean Jay Byrd started an act called Y’all, singing original songs and telling stories based on Grand Ole Opry-style country entertainment. The act sprang from the free-wheeling downtown theater scene but went on to play in coffeehouses, churches, retirement homes, community centers, and schools across the U.S. and in Europe. Their last two years together, they lived in a camper on the road with a third partner. Steven made a documentary about that relationship and the final years of Y’all, Life in a Box, which premiered in the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2005 and was screened and well received at several other festivals across the U.S. and Canada. In the fall of 2009, Steven's hard rock musical Lizzie Borden opened at the Living Theater in New York. The show ran for six weeks to critical acclaim and packed houses.

Steven lives in Austin, Texas, where he writes screenplays, substitute teaches in the public schools, and blogs for the Austin Chronicle’s “Gay Place” and The Bilerico Project.

About Wren Davis Pearson

When I was eight, mum took my brother Ed and me to the city to meet up with her sister, Franny, who was waiting for us at my cousin Wayne’s apartment. Wayne met us as he always did, with big hugs and kisses, and we got to jump on his bed in the middle of the room while the grown ups talked. It was cool that his bed was in the living room and I wondered to myself, hmmmm….where did his roommate sleep? When it became clear they shared the same bed, that seemed even more awesome. What could be better than a constant slumber party with your best friend?

Everything is easy when you are 8.

Wayne died of AIDS many years later. I’ll never forget his chocolate brown eyes.

Wren Davis Pearson is an unlicensed librarian by day and a painter/photographer/writer and nice person by night.

About Cherry Blossom

I grew up in Eastern Europe and came to the US several years ago. As an artist, first I used watercolor, then acrylic, and now I am starting to explore oils. I painted pottery, furniture, made beaded jewelry, created art while cooking. For several years Iʼve been doing figurative drawings and paintings as well. I adore cock. I did not get to admire it enough in former Soviet Union.

So now I am particularly happy to get to express myself… Forbidden fruit is tasty, right? Often I wish I could try out a cock at least for a day. Just to get a feel what it would feel like to wear it! I donated my art last year to the Art Erotica for the first time. I wanted to contribute to a good cause. I am very glad to participate in Penis Project this year. I let my heart lead and create shapes, mix colors, add beads… I swim through life remembering to let go and add a bead of pleasure and satisfaction with every throb as cock fills with blood from satisfaction…

Enjoy it fully!
