Our move to The Long Center has allowed us not only to feature world class dance music from DJ's like Roland Belmares and Seth Copper, but we are also fortunate enough to have the space for a Jazz and Martini Lounge featuring the FairWell Quartet. So whether you are into dancing the night away or sipping cocktails in a mellow lounge-like environment, Octo Tea is the perfect party for you!

The FairWell Quartet is a local jazz group led by Michael Faircloth on upright bass and Stephen Bidwell on drums. Coincidentally, both are originally from Virginia, but moved to Austin from New York City and New Orleans respectively, where they also play in local band Sea Legs. Faircloth studied jazz and recording at Middle Tennessee and Bidwell studied jazz at West Virginia, U. of New Orleans and NYU. The FairWell Quartet plays jazz weekly Sundays 5-8pm at TASTE Select Wines with various horn and guitar players, but usually with the brilliant saxophonist Nathan Peoples. Peoples studied jazz at Northern Illinois and performs frequently around Austin energizing crowds with his exhilarating solos. The group, which also includes guitarist, Trevor La Bonte, performs instrumental jazz standards and originals and besides their Sunday evening residency at TASTE they perform many parties and events as well.
